Jessica Stewart is a Rome-based photographer and art historian. She relocated to Italy in 2005 to be surrounded by the Renaissance and Baroque art for which she is passionate. Her love of photography was developed during coursework at Boston University and honed through her blog RomePhotoBlog, where she regularly posts images exploring contemporary living in Rome.
Her keen sense of observation, honed through years of studying the compositions of the Old Masters, is also informed by her time living as a foreigner in Italy. Through lighting and angles she seeks to find the beauty in everyday urban life and to breath new life into already iconic spaces.
Jessica's photography has been featured in several solo and collective shows in Rome, as well as Budget Travel.com and Il Giornale di Roma.
Jessica Stewart, americana del Massachusetts, è una studiosa di storia dell'arte che si è trasferita a Roma in 2005 per lavorare circondata dall'arte del rinascimento e del barocco che lei ama. La sua passione per la fotografia nasce a 15 anni, dopo il suo primo viaggio in Italia, passione che successivamente ha affinato con corsi di fotografia alla Boston University.
Nel settembre del 2008, Jessica ha creato RomePhotoBlog, un modo di fondere la sua passione per l'arte, la fotografia, e la cittá che adesso è anche la sua. Fissa la cittá con un lento osservare, formato da anni di studio delle composizioni dei grandi maestri d'arte, ma anche dalla sua vita di tutti i giorni come straniera a Roma. Né romana né turista, esplora il quotidiano conosciuto e nascosto, con lintento di realizzare un quadro fotografico di Roma.
L'entusiasmo di trovare la bellezza nei posti comuni o rendere un monumento amato in un modo nuovo la spinge a scoprire sempre di piú della sua cittá adottiva.
